memorial staduim

Today I went to Enoch Pratt library, and found several old articles on the Baltimore Colts and Memorial Stadium. Most of the articles deal with the Colts and Orioles trying to get a new stadium lease. It was interesting, because the Orioles negotiations were going much more smoother than the Colts. I could start to see where the Colts and Baltimore were falling out. Later i will post some of the articles

the band that wouldnt die

After watching a special on ESPN about the departure of the Baltimore Colts called "The Band That Wouldn't Die"by Baltimore native Barry Levinson, I have decided to focus more on the events that led up to the departure and the effects after the Colts left town. The Documentary focuses on the Baltimore Colts marching band, and how they deal with the Colts moving to Indy. The documentary goes into good detail dealing with peoples reactions and feelings toward the move. It has interviews with Barry Levinson, former Colts owner Bob Irsay, and the Baltimore Colts marching band, so I was able to see both sides of the story. This documentary will help me alot in my research.

Research Proposal

The topic I have chosen to research is the Baltimore Colts. I will be researching the Colts move to and from Baltimore, Memorial Stadium, and the overall impact the Colts had on the city of Baltimore, and the rest of the NFL. I hope to learn about the people involved in the relocations, and the reasoning's for Memorial Stadiums location.

I chose this topic because I'm a huge Baltimore sports fan. Most of my family grew up Baltimore Colts fans, so I have heard plenty of stories about how great the Colts were and why they hate them now. So I figured I would enjoy researching the Colts.
